Although it is still the university application season, our students from Cambridge International Department of ASXIT have received dozens of offers from universities all over the world! The very first one arrived from the University of Bristol!

金秋十月，Laurence同学被英国布里斯托大学化学工程专业有条件录取。随后，好消息频频传来，Leo同学被英国布里斯托大学计算机科学专业有条件录取，Gosden同学被英国曼彻斯特大学电子电气工程专业有条件录取。其他同学的来自澳洲、新西兰等国家的Offer也在持续更新中。果然，集齐剑桥A Level三门漂亮成绩，是可以召唤神龙的~

This fruitful October, Laurence from A2 class was pre-admitted to the Chemical Engineering department at the University of Bristol. Then came other good news: Leo was conditionally admitted to Computer Science (in) at the University of Bristol, and Gosden was conditionally admitted, to Electrical Engineering department at the University of Manchester. Offers also came from such as Australia and New Zealand while other countries’ offers are waiting to be updated. If you ace three subjects of Cambridge A Level tests, renowned universities will come calling.

The University of Bristol, was founded in 1876. It is one of the world's top 100 universities, the world's first-class research university, and has always been noted for “academic excellence and innovation combined with a forward-thinking attitude”. By 2018, it had produced 13 Nobel laureates and remained at the forefront of global research. In 2020 and 2021 Bristol ranked 58th on the rankings of colleges and universities. 01丘吉尔和布里斯托的渊源

除了学术实力之外，让布里斯托大学享有盛名还在于这里所发生的一件件传奇的故事。我们先说，它的传奇校监长——温斯顿·丘吉尔。

丘吉尔可以说是英国历史上最伟大的首相，甚至被英国民众投票选为最伟大的英国人。他曾担任布大校监长达36年。2017年3月，诺贝尔奖得主保罗·纳斯爵士担任校监，他曾任英国皇家学会会长一职长达六年之久。

Firstly, excluding academic achievements, the histories of Churchill and Bristol has made the University of Bristol famous for its legendary stories. Let's start with the legendary director, Winston Churchill. Churchill was arguably the greatest Prime Minister in British history and was voted the greatest Briton by the public. He served as Chancellor of the university for 36 years. In March 2017, Nobel laureate Sir Paul Nurse, (who had been) former president of the Royal Society for six years, became chancellor.

Secondly, combining academic excellence with an independent and forward-thinking attitude, Churchill was a legend. But the story of Bristol goes far beyond that. The University of Bristol is a founding member of the Ivy League's Russell Group and one of only six "Red Brick" universities in the UK. 83% of the universities’ research achievements have reached the world's leading level, and not only have 13 Nobel laureates been trained, but also their level and achievements in some cross-disciplinary research fields. It has reached a level that most universities in the UK cannot surpass.

03工程王国的硬实力

布里斯托大学的工程学院下设计算机科学，电子电气工程，机械工程，航空工程和土木工程等分支。同时拥有5名皇家工程学院研究员，并拥有6个世界领先的研究中心。恰巧Leo同学报考的就是计算机科学专业。

Thirdly, the engineering department of Bristol has branches in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering, and civil engineering. It has five researchers from the Royal College of Engineering and six world leading research centres. In these programs, Our Leo from A2 signed up for computer science. In the 2020 Times disciplinary rankings, the University of Bristol's General Engineering course was in a neck and neck tie with Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.

航空航天工程专业下的高级复合材料实验室与劳斯莱斯、空中客车、英国航空公司、欧洲太空总署等业内知名企业有紧密的合作关系。

机械工程专业拥有全英最大的机器人实验室Bristol Robtics Laboratory (BRL)，是最具实力的机器人系统研发中心。

The advanced laboratory for aerospace engineering has a close relationship with Rolls Royce, Airbus, British Airways, European Space Agency and other well- known companies. Mechanical engineering has the largest robotics Laboratory in the UK, the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL) , and is the most capable robotics research and Development Centre in the UK.

04与优秀的同辈人共舞

虽然布里斯托的offer发放时间很早，但它对于学术和语言的要求却丝毫不低。

Last but not the least, Dances with the best of your peers. Although Bristol's offer was granted earlier, its academic and language requirements are no less demanding.

除此之外，在语言上，理工类专业，雅思总成绩不低于6.5分，听说读写各项不低于6.0分。教育、心理学、法律、历史等文科类专业，总成绩不低于7.0分，写作不低于7.0分，听说读三项不低于6.5分。

The first offer of the first students from Cambridge International Department of ASXIT, just like the milk tea in autumn and sunshine in winter. Those who have a dream and once wandered have gained more strength. The gift of fate has been price tagged in secret. We are willing to work hard and look forward to paying something back, because it bears the weight of sweat and tears, youth and dreams, and the future we all look forward to.
