为迎接即将到来的附校体育节，在增强学生体质和意志力的同时，加强师生间的交流互动，我校国际部中美班师生举行了一场新颖的躲避球竞技。

        VIA in The Affiliated School of Xiamen Institute of Technology held a dodgeball activity for the coming school annual fixture. It not only enhances the interaction between teachers and students, but it also encourages students to be more active and responsible. 

        躲避球（Dodgeball），起源于英国，随着欧洲移民新大陆，并在1900年左右盛行于美国。有一部电影《疯狂躲避球》就是描述这个运动的，同时在日本、香港、台湾等地区学校都有开设相关课程与比赛运动。

        Dodgeball, which was originated in England, saw its popularity in the U.S around 1900 because it follows the path of the new immigrant. In the meantime, there were some regions and countries has established some course about this activity. People even made films based on this topic, and one of them is Crazy Dodgeball.

        躲避球比赛场地分成两份，学生分成两队，互相用球击对方。如果用手阻挡住球，则阻挡成功；如果用除手外的其他身体部位阻挡或被球击中，则OUT。最终哪队场上留下的队员多，哪队就胜利。比赛实行积分制，最终积分高的队伍获胜。

        Students were divided into two teams, and they played this game in the form of tournament. The winner is the one that their players could stand to the last, and get 3 points in the leaderboard. Rules are quite simple: 1. The team which runs to the ball first and gets the ball would be the attacker; 2. Once the defender gets hit by the ball or tries to catch the ball but missed will go to the other side of the field and becomes the attacker! 

        中美班的外教老师们都参与到竞技赛中，分别加入不同班级的队伍中，这不仅增进了学生间、师生间的友谊，更推动学生在比赛中自觉运用英语交流，不知不觉中形成了良好的英语交际氛围。

        Our foreign teachers took part in the activity, but joined students’ teams randomly. It could make the game more entertaining. By doing this, our students communicated with teachers in English on their own.

        快速出击的躲避球运动，不仅需要学生的决策力、敏捷度和判断能力，更推动学生思考怎样才能保护队友，做出对的判断。

        Students need to be focused all the time, what’s more, the game required our students to be decisive, flexible and agile. To some extends, they need to be a good commander as well as a good protector.

        一躲、一扔、一接……你瞧！躲避球就是这样简单。队员们挥动强劲的臂弯向对方攻击，犹如鲤鱼跃龙门一般一次一次跳起，一次一次挑战，一次一次超越自我……

        Look! They dive to avoid the ball, and they throw the ball with tactic. This is the game for our students to challenge themselves and compete with others. 

        经过一番激战后，赢得比赛的同学欢呼雀跃。

        After a fierce battle, the winner sang and danced joyfully. 

        身形更灵活，奔跑更迅速，配合更主动，团队精神在躲避球运动中发挥得淋漓尽致。参加的队员每一个既是独立又是联动的，需要勇敢毅力，也需要巧妙合作。

        The player showed their team work spirit in the game with the most complete display of artistry. Each player is interdependent. You can see the beauty of the game.

        通过此次活动，同学们在赛场上展现了坚持、勇于拼搏的精神，挥洒了汗水，更领悟到了teamwork的真谛。附校国际部中美班同学们的高中时光——就是不一Young!

        In this game, our students showed their mettle, and experienced a different taste of team work. This is our entertaining activity time!
